About me

I am Norman Benet González. Currently I study the Bachelor’s Degree in Video Games by UPC at CITM. In the future, I want to be employed as a coder or designer as I like both.

I am friendly, cheerful and hard-worker. Also, I really enjoy working with people and in my opinion, when doing it communication is the key.

My Work

The 3d engine that Carles Margelí and me did, was the base for the User Interface in the Project Atlas.

"Supposedly" I was a designer, but I didn't want to be a whole semester without coding. At the start as the U.I. was a bit messy and with many bugs, I help Carles to implement it.

Moreover, I added features like the "Basic Positions" and the "Same parent RectTransform".

I did all the HUD except the Experience bar. The Pkp, or Panzer Kust Points, are like the skills points that player gets for leveling up (killing enemies). The scrap on the top right corner, is a counter of the robot pieces you get from the loot of scrap boxes through the levels. Finally, bottom center we can see 3 progress bars, orange for health, blue for plasma (spend by using learned skills) and in red the experience.

Furthermore, I created an script for letting designers add dialogues with only adding a few lines. Dialogue pause or not the game (designers can choose), has fade in when starts, Voice Over with the current dialogue and when finished it fades out. It could be initialized by a trigger or when an enemy dies.

I created the pause menu, accesible in game, where you can acces other submenus, go to the main menu or close the game.

I did the upgrades menu, where you can buy (with the recolection of scrap boxes) raises of 15 for your health or your plasma.

Finally, I made the Skilltree, where you can learn new skills by using the Panzer Kust Points (PKP) gained by leveling up. As it is visible, there is some information about if the player can learn the skill, how to do the skill (which button), the name of the skill, a short description and in case of the left ones if are locked or no.

Also, as I did big part of the User Interface I was in charge of adding the audio, made by Josep, to it and created some art (like the LEARN! animated texture or the buttons icon in skilltree).
